Artist Bio:

Sam Guzzie is a multi-media artist and muralist from Philadelphia, PA. After a brief affair with fashion, she graduated from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art with a BA in Studio Art and minor in Art History. In 2015, Sam moved to Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband and son, where she founded Brand the Moth, a nonprofit for mural arts and education in the Charlotte area.

Sam’s love of antiquities dance through her body of work. With an unusual gothic undertone and surrealistic tendencies, she addresses gender, sexuality and human interaction under the influence of a natural duality within the human psyche.

Artist Statement:

PRIVATE is meant to question our intentions, exploring the concept of privacy and the dichotomy of emotions related to the experience of our private space, time and parts.
